I made this piece while testing different shapes for the balabonnet. While it isn’t the exact silhouette I ultimately landed on, it’s still a well-made, high-quality, fully finished garment. It’s priced accordingly as a test knit.
The main difference between this bonnet and the final balabonnet design is the addition of elastic sewn into the neck ribbing to help shape the silhouette. The balabonnets I’m currently making do not include elastic.
The balabonnet is a cross between balaclava and bonnet, a stylish yet functional piece that’s perfect for the winter season. Entirely handmade and one-of-a-kind. Knit using a high-quality alpaca-wool blend selected for warmth, breathability, and texture. The fabric is lightweight yet insulating, with a gentle halo characteristic of fine alpaca fibers.
