Ram’s Head is a fine fragrance brand that began with a narrative purpose. Inspired by film and media, Ram’s Head plays with archetypes and narrative concepts to illicit play and tease the imagination. Many fragrances are directly inspired by film tropes or cultural zeitgeists. The first fragrance developed, Siren, was an ode to the classic Old Hollywood femme fatale and glamorous female leads found in women like Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth. Oubliette was similarly inspired by film, taking inspiration from classic horror films and the ubiquitous style of hammer horror girls.
Ram’s Head was founded and developed in Raleigh, North Carolina. The perfumer, Annabel Cannoy, received her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Consumer and Retail Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also studied acting through the Stella Adler Studio in New York City. Through the process of wearing different perfumes to channel characters and evoke emotional responses in audition rooms, she realized the underrated power of fragrances to weave stories, create powerful emotional responses, and lead to dramatic first impressions. This curiosity led to a drive to create unique storytelling opportunities through fragrance and to encourage others to embrace the spirit of exploration through self-expression. Every Ram’s Head fragrance is made with experimentation in mind.
